First Sergeant Otis Dell Jamison

First Sergeant Otis Dell Jamison was born in Santa Anna, California. He enlisted in the United States Army on March 11, 1979 as a CHAPPARAL Crewmember, MOS 16P. He attended Basic and Advanced Individual Training at Fort Bliss, Texas. His assignments include; 293rd Signal Company in Korea; HHB 3rd  Battalion 18th FA in Fort Sill; Bravo Battery 2/17 FA in Korea; Charlie 3/9 FA Battalion in Fort Sill; HHB 92nd Chemical Battalion in Pine Bluff Arkansas.

 

During his career he held many leadership positions. From Battalion Operations Sergeant, at 1-33 Service Battery, Fort Bliss, Texas; Battalion Operations Sergeant, at 2-15 Combat Support, Fort Hood, Texas; Brigade Logistic Advisor, 2-15 Combat Support, Fort Hood, Texas; Chief Instructor/Writer, at 187 Ordnance Battalion; and is currently serving as the Company First Sergeant for Foxtrot Maintenance Company 2-43 ADA.

 

 First Sergeant Jamison’s military education includes Warrior Leaders Course, Basic Noncommissioned Officer Course, Army Recruiter, Maintenance Management, Ordnance Shop Technician, Total Army Instructor Training, Advance Noncommissioned Officer Course, First Sergeant Course, Combat Life Saver Course, and Unit Prevention Leader. He also holds a Masters Degree in Military Science, a Bachelors in Education with a minor Psychology.

  

First Sergeant Jamison’s awards include Army Commendation Medal( 3 Oak Leaf Clusters); Army Achievement Medal (4 Oak Leaf Clusters); Good Conduct Medal ( 2 Oak Leaf Clusters); National Defense Medal with Service Star; Iraq Campaign Medal; Global War on Terrorism Expeditionary Medal; Global War on Terrorism Service Medal; Recruiting Badge Gold with (3 Sapphires); Driver and Mechanics Badge.

 

 First Sergeant Jamison and his wife, Michelle, have a son named Jonathan, 7.

Kristle DeLeon currently living @ Camp Pendleton, California was called to duty and answer her Country's call. She was deployed on March 15, 2010 to Afghanistan tentatively for one year. Please pray for her and all the brave men and women serving the United States.

Pray for the service members and their families. I pray that God will be near to Kristle and that she will know and experience Gods presence and protection. I pray that she will find peace that surpasses all understandings for her. Pray for the safe return home for her and all men and women serving. Semper Fidelis!

Specialist Dobbins advances in United States Army

Specialist Alisha Dobbins joined the United States Army in May of 08 Right after she graduated high school. That was her dream. She Graduated Boot Camp and A.I.T. In Fort Jackson South Carolina she is a strong willed person and always thinks of others. Attending her Graduation was her very proud parents Ovie and Carolyn Dobbins who had to sign Specialist Dobbins in the Army because she was only 17 years old at the time.

After Graduating Specialist Dobbins Went on to Airborne School in Fort Benning Georgia Specialist Dobbins Was then stationed at Fort Drum New York and is currently still there.

Specialist Dobbins has been in Fort Drum Since the beginning of '09 Specialist Dobbins has achieved and mastered many things since she joined. Getting a promotion about every 6 months Specialist Dobbins started out as an E-1 and is now a Specialist in less than 2 years. Specialist Dobbins Family is Ovie and Carolyn Dobbins of Brownwood one Brother Justin Dobbins of Brownwood.

A very Special aunt of Coleman, Dorothy Farris, another special aunt of Coleman, Eura Royall, and other relatives of Coleman, Grandparents, uncle, aunts and cousin. A Grand Mother of Tyler, Tx Alice Terry, Special uncle John Terry, other aunt and uncles are Bobby Tillman and wife of Oklahoma Shirley and Jimmy Crabtree of Tyler, Casey and Debra Brown of Tyler, Patricia Harding of Longview, Tx, Ray Terry Of Tyler, Robert and Lisa Shipp of Tyler, Gary Tillman of Oklahoma and lots of cousin to many to mention whom are all extremely proud of her. Specialist Dobbins will reenlist For another 6 years to the United States Army in May 2010 Specialist Dobbins serves her Country and loves what she is doing. CHS ALUM GRADUATES FROM ARMY'S ADVANCED INDIVIDUAL TRAINING SCHOOL

United States Army Private First Class Jeremy R. Jameson completed his Advanced Individual Training (AIT), and graduated on January 22nd from Ft. Sam Houston in San Antonio, Texas. PFC Jameson graduated into a proud military tradition within the United States Army Medical Department (US AMEDD), which is the enduring legacy of the Combat Medic.

Military medical training is physically, mentally and emotionally demanding. To graduate from AIT, soldiers must pass difficult qualification tests such as the National Registry of Emergency Medical Technicians (NREMT), validate on various practical medical skills such as initiating IV lines for fluid support, administering immunizations, providing pediatric and geriatric healthcare, identifying and treating neurological and physiological disorders, as well as perform basic Soldier skills and maintain physical fitness. The mission is to ensure Soldiers have the opportunity to prosper and to successfully transition to military life as the competent and caring Soldier-Medic.

"The successful completion of AIT is an important event for our Soldiers. The transformation that your Soldier has undergone to become a United States Army Soldier-Medic is both impressive and awe-inspiring. They press ever forward, testing the meaning of their new experiences by putting lessons learned to work and renewing their dedication to their sacred charge-Conserving the Fighting Strength. Private First Class Jameson is now with his unit and stationed at Ft. Hood in Killeen, Texas. PFC Jameson is a Field Combat Medic with 1 - 9 CAV 4TH BCT (Brigade Combat Team), 1st Calvary Division.

PFC Jameson is a 2009 Coleman High School graduate. Attending the US Army AIT Graduation at Ft. Sam Houston in San Antonio were his very proud parents, Rex and Debbie Jameson of Coleman, sister and brother-in-law, Ashley and Dwayne Myers of Arlington, and grandparents, Wilbert & Jerry Dobbins of Coleman.

SGT Andrew Splattstoesser has just completed a second tour in Iraq and now home with his family. Currently stationed in Fort Riley, KS. Parents for Andrew is Annalisa Jones from Warden WA, and Terry Splattstoesser from Kenniwck, WA. Parents for Dejsha is Grady and Sharon Woodcox. Andrew has four lovely children that think he is their hero. Andrew's family would like to say thanks for all those who support our troops.

Currently serving with Charlie Battery 5-3 FA MLRS, 4th Engineering Battalion in Southern Afghanistan. Jarret's proud family are his parents James and Arletta O'Shields and his sister Amanda O'Shields.

1995 CHS Graduate Receives Promotion on September 14th To Chief Petty Officer (E-7)

  On September 14, 2009 in Norfolk, Virginia Matthew Henderson was promoted to the rank Chief Petty Officer (E-7). Matthew is a 1995 graduate of Coleman High School and the son of Pat and Patricia Henderson of Coleman.
  His Chief’s Anchors were pinned on by his wife Anissa, mother, and father during his pinning ceremony onboard USS Gonzalez (DDG-66). Matthew entered the U.S. Navy on August 20, 1998 as an Operations Specialist. He has served at sea on USS Cowpens (CG-63), USS Mobile Bay (CG-53), USS Ticonderoga (CG-47), and USS Gonzalez (DDG-66) and on shore as an instructor at Fleet Anti-Submarine Warfare Training Center San Diego. Matthew’s promotion is a pinnacle in his career.

 

 

PFC First Class Ryan Wagner graduated from AIT training on September 9th, 2009 at Fort Sam Houston, San Antonio. He is currently completing his training with Clinicals at Fort Bliss, El Paso for 2 months. Which when completed will report to Fort Polk, Louisiana for duty station on November 30th. Ryan is a 2003 graduate of Brady High School in Brady, Tx and is the husband of Jessica (Faries) Wagner of Olfen, Tx.

Pfc. Kristle DeLeon, USMC

Private First Class Kristle DeLeon, a 2007 graduate of Santa Anna High School, graduated from 13 weeks of Marine Corps recruit training on March 6, 2009, claiming the title "United States Marine!". After ten days of leave with her family, she attended the Marine Combat Training for one month at Camp Geiger, NC. Following that she attended Military Postal School for 6 weeks in Fort Jackson, SC.  Following postal school, PFC DeLeon came home for five days of leave before she went to her first duty assignment at Camp Pendleton, California.
 

She expects to deploy to Afghanistan within the next six months tentatively for one year.

David Eric Clay
(Former Coleman Resident)

David served in the National Guard Army. He had been overseas in Afghanistan for a around a year.


Many awards were given to him. David is a high school graduate of the year 2003. He is the step-grandson of Mr. & Mrs. J. L. Gandy, and Frankie West Gandy.  Honoring him again are his parents, step Dad (Teddy) and Mother (Jo)  Mr. & Mrs. Theodore Gandy.
 


He became interested in helping people from being in the boy scouts. While participating in boy scouts he became a fancy dancer. (Shown right) His decision to fight for our country has made him the man he has become today.
 


A1C Jon Turney

The son of Mark and Marsha Turney of Whon and a 2003
graduate of Panther Creek. Jon is currently stationed at
Holloman Air Force Base, NM with his wife Haley and
his son Rex.  He is an instructor sensor operator and flight evaluator for the MQ-9 Reaper Unmanned Aerial System.

Elizabeth graduated from Coleman High School Class of 2007 and has finished Basic Combat Training and AIT for Military Police training
in Fort Leonardwood, Missouri.

PFC Elizabeth Stansbury is now stationed at Fort Carson in Colorado

Elizabeth's family include: her mother, Denise Christopherson, stepfather Chris Christopherson, sisters Amanda, Keshia and Ollie, brothers Wesley and Joshua and cousin Jennifer Wright.
 

The family of Spc. Zachary Andrade are thrilled to welcome him home from Iraq.   Zachary, a 2003 graduate of Coleman High School, spent two years at Texas A & M before enlisting in the U.S. Army. After Boot Camp in January 2005 in South Carolina, he went to AIT in Virginia and is stationed at Ft. Hood in Killeen as Crew Chief for Apache helicopters.

Zachary returns from a 15 month deployment at Camp Taji, Iraq. His family wishes to thank everyone for their thoughts and prayers while he was deployed and urge you to continue praying for our soldiers.

 

PVT. Johnathon Kight is the son of John and Teresa Kight of Coleman. He is grandson of Dr. and Mrs. Don Northway, Pastor of Bible Baptist in Coleman; and the Grandson of Rev. and Mrs. Ernie Kight, Pastor of Wyndrock Missionary Baptist Church in Abilene. His sister is Krystal Kight, student of Hardin Simmons University in Abilene, TX.

Johnathon graduated from Fort Jackson, South Carolina on October 05, 2007 from BCT. Then on November 20, 2007 he graduated from AIT with a mos of 92S Shower+Laundry Repair Specialist. Johnathan is now at Fort Carson, Colorado. By April 2, 2008 he will be in Iraq.

 

SPC Travis Sanders

He was recently promoted to Sergeant (also known around here by his friends as Bryan/or Sando Sanders) of the United States Army and is a member of the 1st ID, 2nd Brigade Field Artillery Division based out of Germany, currently serving in Iraq on their second deployment. GO BIG RED ONE!

A 2004 graduate of Coleman High School, Lance is currently deployed to Al Asad, Iraq with the 1st Battalion, 12th Marines. Lance has been in the Marines since July 2004. He went to Boot Camp in San Diego, CA, has been stationed at Ft. Meade, Maryland and Camp Courtney in Okinawa, Japan.

LCPL Reece, DeRaile
United States Marine

DeRaile is currently serving in Camp Fallujah, Iraq.  He attended Coleman Elementary School in Coleman before moving to Brownwood.  DeRaile was a 1998 graduate of Furness High School in South Philadelphia, PA.  He was stationed at Camp LeJeune in North Carolina before his deployment to Iraq in February of 2007. 

DeRaile is the son of Cynthia Reece-Brown, grandson of Marva Baker, nephew of George Jones, and the great grandson of the late Carter Graves.

Christopher Derec Burrage
Marine Cpl., E4.

Derec is stationed at Camp LeJeune, North Carolina.  He has served twice in Iraq and is expecting to go back.  Derec attended Coleman High School and is the grandson of Joe and Tonie Burrage.

His father is Van Burrage, his mother is Kathy Bullock.  Derec is currently stationed in Iraq and will be there four or five months.

Sgt. Shilo Harris

Currently stationed at Ft. Drum, New York, he is on his second tour in Iraq.  Shilo was seriously injured in mid-February when his unit was attacked by the enemy.  Shilo was burned and had other injuries and was the only one in his unit to survive the attack on their Humvee.  He was moved to Brooke Army Medical Center in San Antonio for further treatment on February 27th.   Shilo's mother is Teresa Bently of Coleman. His father is Allen B. Harris of McCamey, Texas. Shilo is married to the former Katheryn Phillips.  Shilo has three sons, Nicolas and Albert Harris of Texas and Joshua Harris of Calcium, New York. Shilo and Kathreyn have one daughter, Elizabeth Harris, of Calcium, New York. Please pray for Shilo and his family during this trying time in their lives.

Christopher Lee Aaron, age 22, stationed at Fort Hood. He served one year in Iraq and one year in Germany where he met his wife.

 

Our prayers were answered on March 16, 2007 when Christopher and Michaela Aaron welcomed baby girl Latizia Marie Aaron, 7lbs 1 oz. Christopher was able to see her before going back to Iraq. We are very proud of him and are really excited about our new grandbaby.



 

Pvt. Kari Waldrop attended Coleman High School and graduated from Broken Arrow High School. She graduated from Basic Training with Company C, 1st Battalion, 48th Infantry Regiment at Fort Leonard Wood, Missouri and completed additional training as Ammunition Specialist at Redstone Arsenal near Huntsville, Alabama. She is currently in the Mohave Desert, getting ready to go to Iraq sometime this summer. Pvt. Waldrop is the daughter of Jeanna and Robert Lowe of Coleman and Glenn and Danielle Waldrop of Broken Arrow, Oklahoma.

 

MASN Chelsey Benedict
United States Navy
Currently Stationed at Naval Construction Battalion Center
Gulfport, Mississippi

After completing Naval Boot Camp in Great Lakes Illinois, and Master at Arms “A” School at Lackland AFB in San Antonio, Texas. Chelsey spent the Christmas and New Year Holidays at her family’s home in Coleman, Texas. On January 2nd Chelsey reported to the Naval Construction Battalion Center in Gulfport, Mississippi for further military police and correctional officer training. Upon completion of her duty in Gulfport, Mississippi, Chelsey will be headed to Fort Lewis in Washington State for the last leg of her stateside training and then will go on to Guantanamo Bay Naval Station, in Guantanamo Bay, Cuba for a
one-year tour of service.
 


Army, SSG Antonio Casas Jr, has been deployed back to Iraq for another year. He is still attached to the First Cavalry Division out of Ft Hood, Texas, this is his second deployment with the First Cavalry Division. His unit will be stationed in Baghdad, Iraq.
