Hi, my name is Jody Payne, and I am asking for your vote for Place 1 in the Coleman ISD School Board election. I have held this position for six years. I feel I have a good grasp and knowledge of the workings of the ISD and of the needs of our students and teachers.

In the six years that I have served on the school board, there have been many achievements for Coleman ISD. The truth is that most of these achievements are mainly due to our superintendent, our principals, and our teachers. We are filling our schools with educators who truly care about the kids. I believe that our educators not only care about the students’ education but also the wellness of their lives. I am probably the most proud of them.

The Coleman ISD School Board is made up of seven different people with different thoughts and ideas, but they come together as one to reach the best decision for our kids. After all, it is all about the kids. That’s probably the next thing I am the proudest of.

I am also proud of our facilities. In the six years I have been on the board we have had several additions in this area. The new High School Gym is one of the best gyms in the region. It is beautiful, well designed, well built, and holds just under 1000 people. We have been able to have many play off games held in the gym which has brought revenue to our city. The new concession stand at Hufford Field along with the new restrooms has really taken our already top notch natural turf football field to a higher level. We have also been able to resurface our track for the safety of our athletes and the comfort of our citizens of Coleman who like to walk or jog for exercise. The purchase of the Armory and the land around it for the practice and training of our athletes has been another great addition to our facilities. We have been able to accomplish all of this without the raising of taxes, and actually our taxes have lowered this year.

The student’s test scores continue to get higher due to the hard work and dedication of our students, teachers, administrators, and board. We are not far away from having three recognized campuses and a recognized district, and I believe it will be done soon.

Again, I am asking for your vote for Place 1 on the Coleman ISD School Board so I may continue serving you as taxpayers, moms, dads, teachers, administrators, fellow board members, and especially our kids because “it is all about the kids”.
