The ATL Airport District Convention & Visitors Bureau (CVB), the destination marketing organization for the cities of College Park, Hapeville and Union City, Ga., today announced that after joining its team in January 2025 as a contractor, Helen Scroggs will now step into a full-time role as sales manager. With more than 20 years of experience as a leader in sales, meeting and event coordination – as well as a past small business owner – Scroggs brings a deep appreciation of the critical role tourism plays in supporting local communities.

“Helen has a rare blend of hands-on experience, infectious enthusiasm and big-picture thinking, which makes her the ideal person to join our team in a full-time capacity,” said Mercedes Miller, president of the ATL Airport District. “Her background in large-scale event execution and community engagement makes her uniquely equipped to help grow our group business and underscore the District’s position as a premier destination for group travel.”

Prior to joining the District team, Scroggs was a member of the Atlanta CVB destination services team. In her role there, she built meaningful relationships with partners and stakeholders and supported the execution of events in the city. Other previous experience included serving as the convention registration manager for the International Woodworking Fair, LLC., where she managed registration for the country’s largest woodworking technology and design trade show, hosting more than 20,000 attendees. In that position, Scroggs managed stakeholder communications, streamlined on-site operations and executed a seamless registration process, taking a people-first approach to doing business.

Scroggs holds a bachelor’s degree in hospitality management with a concentration in meeting and event planning from American Public University. Originally from Wales, United Kingdom, Scroggs became a U.S. Citizen in 2005 and relocated to Atlanta with her family three years ago. She is passionate about community involvement and in her free time, enjoys traveling – having visited 36 countries – and spending quality time with her husband and two children.
